Affirming Our Kids

Starting our day with a positive mindset can help our whole family.

Affirmations are such a powerful tool to help us in our everyday lives. I've used affirmations in my own life, when I wanted to accomplish goals. It wasn't until recently that I thought about using them as a parent and for my own child.

When you use an affirmation, say it as though it is happening now. An example would be, "I am a present parent" or "Our home is peaceful."

I love Louis Hayes Affirmation cards. They are fun to pick out each day with your whole family.

Positive affirmations build confidence and encourage positivity.

Here is a list of some affirmations your child can say at the start of each day...

I can learn anything.

I am loved.

I am strong.

I believe in myself.

I can do it.

I am creative.

I am brave.

At the end of my classes, I always have the children sing, "I'm a Brave Bright Theater Kid" which is an affirmation that I hope sticks with them all of their lives.
